History
Family business in the second generation
From its beginnings in 1975 as a small business for promotional items, BÖ-LA Siebdrucktechnik GmbH subsequently developed into one of the leading manufacturers of technical screen printing films. Today, BÖ-LA is a recognised and competent development partner and supplier to large-scale industry, especially in the business fields of the automotive and household appliance industries as well as in the medical and electronics sectors.

1975

In 1975 our founders Elmar Böing-Meßing and Karl-Heinz Lahme took over an existing print shop in Wuppertal with one employee and one machine. The combination of the two surnames resulted in the company name BÖ-LA.

1986

The company, which had previously been active in commercial printing, is now focused on industrial screen printing. In 1986, the foundation stone for our Plant 1 was laid, laying the foundation for the very successful business development.

1993

As a pioneer of FIM-INSERT-MOLDING, BÖ-LA, as the supplier of the printed film, together with a system supplier who took over the back injection and is still one of our customers today, brought the heating control bezel for the BMW E36 into series production - the birth of film back injection, so to speak, i.e. Film-Insert-Molding.

1997

BÖ-LA is developing from a pure foil supplier to a supplier of decorative and backlit plastic components. The new Film-Insert-Molding technology is doing well in the market. In order to meet the increasing demand from our customers and to be able to offer the entire Film-Insert-Molding process from a single source, our plant 2 - BÖ-LA Kunststofftechnik - specialising in 3D-forming and injection moulding was founded in 1997.

2008

After 33 years of successful business, the two founders pass the management on to the next generation. In 2008, Mike Böing-Meßing and Roland Jürgens take over the management of the well-positioned family business with two plants and 250 employees.

2015

By purchasing the neighbouring hall in 2015, BÖ-LA has opened up important space for future growth. In order to ensure an optimal movement of people and goods, the new hall is connected to Plant 1 by means of a people bridge and a goods lift. The opening of Plant 3 - BÖ-LA Montagetechnik - marks the next strategic step in the development of BÖ-LA as a supplier of decorative and technical assemblies.

2016 / 2021

With the takeover of the previous supplier Borowski Automatisationssysteme in 2016, BÖ-LA secures the know-how for the construction of complex assembly transfer lines. In 2021, BÖ-LA takes a further step and converts the construction of assembly systems to in-house production with the machines and employees taken over from Borowski.
